Many of the ladies of our church have been busy lil bees!🐝
Each 2nd Monday of the month, they have been meeting together in fellowship to sew, roll fabric, make greeting cards, & put together kits. Then all their finished products get packed into boxes and somehow end up on a boat and eventually end up in the Congo for Tandala women and the Children's Hospital there. There are actual living breathing people who receive these items that the women of OUR church lovingly put together with their hands. Real women, real babies, real children from across the world!
Because of war, many of these women have been widowed and the children have been orphaned. Many of the 'kits' that our ladies put together go to these women who are learning real life skills like sewing so they can actually support their families without a husband.
What's even more... get this! this ministry within our church has been a great and MUCH NEEDED source of fellowship for many of these women. It has been a major blessing in the lives of our ladies! They can chat, laugh & pray while using their hands to make something real, that someone across an ocean will benefit from! I'd say that's a win-win, wouldn't you?
If this sounds like something you'd like to be involved in contact Virginia Richards or Ellen Hollis. ANYONE can come!! No sewing required, but if you do have sewing experience it is appreciated. Just bring your own scissors and a sack lunch!
And while I have your attention... watch this less than 2 min video to learn more about what Reach Global through the EFCA is doing there in the Congo:
